100 Things About Myself

Kai, the girl writer of a blog I enjoy reading, posted her 100 things about herself, so I thought I'd attempt mine...

1. I'm not an extremely original person when it comes to most things.
2. I don't eat meat or pork because I don't like it, period.
3. I had to buy a California King sized bed because my dogs sleep with me.
4. I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Jack Russel.
5. The Rohdesian thinks it is his bed.
6. I'm a computer programmer.
7. I was an econ major but taught myself to program 2 years after graduation.
8. I didn't use a computer until my senior year in college.
9. Still can't figure out when to use 'where' and when to use 'were'.
10. I know when to use 'wear' and 'ware'.
11. I hate the mall.
12. I hate trying on clothes at the mall.
13. I only buy clothes on line.
14. Trader Joes is my favorite grocery store.
15. I don't like southern California and want to move out.
16. I've never been married or engaged.
17. The closest I got to engaged or married was, 'Come on Sam, let's just go get married right now'. Romantic, no?
18. I said 'no f'ing way'.
19. Recently I fell in love with a Canadian.
20. He broke it off with me in an email.
21. Aggressively confrontational people aren't worth my time.
22. I have a very good sense of direction.
23. I can't spell and live by spell check.
24. Numbers is what I understand.
25. I took 3 years of college Spanish and still can barely put a sentence together.
26. I started riding horses when I was 10, 28 years ago.
27. Yes, I'm 38.
28. I trust few people.
29. I've always lived at least a half hour or less from the pacific ocean.
30. I only came home from 3 and a half months in Europe because my mom wouldn't send me any more money and I couldn't find a job.
31. I was the fastest typer in my typing class in highschool.
32. No computers in that class, electric typewriters.
33. I hated gym.
34. Until recently, I only dated older (5, 10, 20 years) men.
35. I love comfort food late at night.
36. I'm trying to loose weight and convince myself that water is comfort food.
37. I event and show jump my horse in competitions.
38. Mostly it's more nerve racking than fun.
39. But when I win it's hugely gratifying.
40. I love to gamble, but hate to loose, so set limits when I go to vegas.
41. I would never gamble on line.
42. People who talk over me really irritate me.
43. I love animals more than I do people.
44. Not until just recently did I ever think I'd want a kid.
45. A hundred things is a lot to type when I don't trust anyone to know stuff about me.
46. My Grandfather Newton was the best man I've ever met and I miss him more than I show people.
47. I'm glad I got to see him before he passed, but I don't feel guilty for not going to his funeral (sorry mom). I grieved my own way...
48. My most favorite Aunt No No gave me the down payment for the house I now own. She gave me a bunch of great gifts, but besides the Sam's restaurant 2 dollar bill she gave me at a very young age of 6 and I still have, the house is 2nd best.
49. My father abandoned me and my brother when we left Japan at a young age. Now that he's sick, he wants to be in our life.
50. His Japanese wife won't let him talk to us so he 'sneaks' calls from the hospital he lives in Tokyo.
51. Haven't heard from my father lately.
52. I should be packing for the horse show but this is more fun.
53. Aunt Kay is the sweetest, most loving woman, and I wouldn't know a lot of things about my father if it wasn't for her...
54. My mom and brother love me unconditionally. I can say the same back.
55. Closest of friends are ones I've known from childhood (Ginnie, Stephanie) or from College (Amy, Joan, Kari, Bill, Malcolm, Seth) eventhough I haven't seen or talked to some of them for a while.
56. I dogged that guy at work again today. This will be the third time I tried to have a thing with him but couldn't. Think he'll give up?
57. Ginnie felt sorry for him the other day. I can't or else I'll lead him on - again.
58. He'd be the 4th and a half guy I dated from my job. Any one else see the trend I'm trying to break?
59. The half was Chuck, because although he worked for a vendor, I met him at work because he worked for a vendor.
60. Regarding the Canadian, he was the fourth long distant relationship I've had and I'm not talking about counties but states and countries...
61. Jay - Oregon. Thomas - Vienna. Ulf - Sweden.
62. Maybe I like long distant relationships?
63. I don't know how and don't like to 'date'.
64. One of my friends told Ginnie that I fall hard (something like that)for men. What's your point?
65. I'm starting to think there's something to the 'no sex for the first 3 months' thing. But don't tell Ginnie, she's mostly right....
66. This list is supposed to be a '100 things about myself'. I find myself typing a bunch of stuff not necessarily about me, but about others... (I deleted it, trying to stay focused).
67. I'm a fairly organized person.
68. When I really want something, it's hard for me not to have a tantrum when I don't get it...
69. I'm not confrontational - I'm an avoider...
70. Tank tops, exposed arms, are a no-no.
71. I drink so much water at work that I spend half the day in the girls room.
72. I tend to shred mail before opening it and have been known to shred checks.
73. I'm destine to win the lotto.
74. I like to suck on mints when I'm drinking wine.
75. I crack a lot. (my joints)
76. I have carpal tunnel and my fingers go numb when driving.
77. On a boat, in a body of water, is one of my favorite places.
78. I balance my check book every month, but not necessarily to the penny.

100 is a lot of things. I need another break...

Back from a long weekend and a horse show. Blue (my horse) and I won Reserve Champion at an "A" rated horse show in Los Angeles in the Adult Amateur division. Quite the accomplishment for us... Hopefully I can save my pennies and go to another show soon, or win the lotto...

79. Thinking up a hundred things is a pain in the butt.
80. I have a vegetable garden.
81. When people are mad at my dogs I take it way too personally.
82. I hate it when people talk about me eventhough I know it happens.
83. I talk about people to people.
84. This weekend I walked by Tom Selleck and was too chicken shit to say hello.
85. I actually slept this weekend. Running around the horse show exhausted me.
86. I forgot what I've already typed about myself.
87. Mostly I do things myself because I can't count on people to do them for me...
88. Sometimes I sound off ideas to people and later regret it because they take the ideas to heart, especially if they like the idea.
89. It's difficult for me to just sit and watch T.V. or read a book. I find I need to get up for some reason or another.
90. I'll leave dishes in the sink over night, but that's the longest.
91. My drier has been kinda broken for months now. Have to dry stuff 3-4 times.
92. I have 4 TVs in my 1030 sq ft house so that I can watch the show from every room as I'm doing stuff because I can't just sit on the couch and watch TV.
93. My dogs each chicken and rice for dinner.
94. I didn't smoke any cigarettes at the horse show and didn't miss them.
95. I smoked 3 when I got home yesterday.
96. I'm going to have to sell my horse soon.
97. I'll buy another one.
98. I wish I had a boyfriend/husband.
99. I'm glad I didn't marry any of my old boyfriends and that they are "old boyfriends".
100. I prefer salt over sweet.
